rain rain go away

Did anyone noticed how it rains HEAVILY almost everyday at almost the same time for some days? Like two weeks earlier the rain started about 4pm, then it shifted to about 5pm, then moved to about 6, 7-ish, causing KL traffic to be at a massive standstill.

Now… this week it rained as it pleased. I recently have a little pond in my garden (thanks to JC! – will upload pictures soon) and then I got to live in fear that my little guppies will commit suicide since the water level is so high everyday.

And it gets so cold in the office with full air-con blasting away.

Notwithstanding is the temperamental flash floods due to poor drainage system…

Suddenly, I miss JC and I want to go home and play games NOW NOW NOW!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

This year must be one of the most boring Chinese New Year I’ve ever had. Apart from the lack of enthusiasm felt from all corners of Malaysia (my friends in Seremban, Penang, Muar, Perak, KL as well as Singapore all told me the same thing), it is my definite bad fortune that I fell SICK during this most joyous time of the whole year.

I was so looking forward to having a drunk fest during CNY… Alas, it was not to be. As it is, the famous B151 (all the way from Australia) is still sitting patiently on my dresser waiting for me to finish it up. Sad, very sad.

Anyway, the MAJOR achievements I did this CNY were:

1) got my bro to wear the SAME t-shirts (in M, L, XL respectively from oldest to youngest, from left to right) and manage to bully them in taking a picture!

Note: All their smiles were FORCED. By me of course.

PS: Don’t you think they look 0h-so-adorable especially with the golden rat?

2) manage to corner all my uncles, aunties, cousins and my delicate grandma to take pictures! After several snaps from my camera I suddenly found everyone whipping out their cameras to do the same… *sweat*

Note: My beautiful girl cousins. All younger. No, they are not available!

A new year

…is almost always a merry thing as it signifies the death of the lousy previous year and the birth of a brand new year:

a new outlook + a new approach + a new resolution + a new job + a new relationship = a refresh hope.

i miss home

It has been a crazy crazy 2 months for me flying to 3 different destinations, moving house and changing job. I only have small windows of time to do everything! During these couple of weeks I believe I have lost track of my nationality (am I Malaysian or Thai?), my orientation around the globe (not that I have much directional sense to begin with), my preferred language (I now speak a “rojak” of English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Canto, and have thrown in some cannot-make-it Aussie slang for good measure), and my preferences for food (is it yesterday or last week that I have Viet food?).

Well, at least I still remember my name.

Why did I ever think that jet setting around the globe was a fun thing? With my growing age and reduced metabolism rate I will be most disinclined to take on another back-to-back travelling plan again unless forced to at gun point.

Nevertheless, I have plenty of fun everywhere I go! See, it’s not really about the location and it’s all about the company. Nothing beats the experience of exploring different culture and food with the pleasant company of family and friends and being able to get away when anyone do any stupid stuff (somebody take the thai-boys-show scene off my head please!).

Having said that, I miss everything in KL. I have been away for too long. I yearn to go home…

sh!t, I am really getting older, ain’t I?

Happy 2008!

Happy New Year folks! I for one am particularly glad to send 2007 away and welcome 2008 with a big warm hug! …All because according to Lillian Too I will have ample Peach Blossom luck and super duper good career luck this year.

Despite needing to spray artificial snow on unsuspecting victims; accidentally ate some artificial snow myself; walking on wet, dirty floor which ruined my new red shoes; squeezing through the throngs of packed human (almost like sardines in a can) who stepped on my hexed toe; soaked under drizzling rain which spoiled my new top; got star strucked by cool Chinese Singers like Justin, I had HEAPS of fun at Bukit Bintang celebrating the all brand new 2008!

I wanted to write more but my credit is running out so here’s to wishing you all a healthy, happy and fulfilled year 2008!

moving! moving! moving!

It is time to move. I mean, why would I stay by myself in a 3-room condo? Not like I can afford the whole rent myself. Or maybe I could afford the rent, I just don’t have to eat, drink, drive and shop all the time.

For me myself and my shadow alone, I have 2 huge boxes of shoes, several boxes of clothes, some boxes of junks, and a few furniture pieces. OH MY GOD, since when did I collect all these junks?

It made me realized that human, in general, collect junks. Why? Because they like to buy. Buy buy buy buy buy. Especially girls. Not that they need those items, they just want them. Somehow being the proprietor of an awesome piece of item is being translated to how successful, how tasteful, how cool they are.

Open your wardrobe and check how many items have you purchased yet have never used? Isn’t this a waste of natural and human resources? Does our mindless purchase indirectly contributed to the global warming issue?

I’m so goddam tired from having to lift heavy stuff and arrange all the stupid furniture I have to acquire as I’m moving from a furnished to an unfurnished place. Why didn’t anyone warn me that I’m going to have a “fun-filled” field day looking for furnitures for the empty room? *argh*

Now in the midst of sorting, packing, unpacking, resorting, repacking (luckily I have enough training packing for events), I did discover some interesting facts about gender:

one: Guys and girls pack stuff differently. Ask a guy to move, he will swipe everything in boxes, seal them and consider it done. Girls will sort and pack nicely – especially their expensive accessories, make ups, clothes and shoes.

two: Girls have definitely more stuff than guys! Just count the number of their shoes or clothes.

three: No straight guys will ever buy a red or orange curtain, yet they will say ‘yeah OK it looks just fine’ to girls! (yes, bro, YOU!)

OK OK, enough ranting. Back to more packing! *groan*

If I ever going to have a baby…

It will be because I like to have my very own living breathing replica.

And I will pick an intelligent man with great charisma so together we will create a better specimen of human being. *evil laugh*
