2007 December | the argot of an eidolon

it’s good to be back!

I know I’m going to go down in hell by saying this (wait, I’m already Pagan, so I’m doomed anyway… *shrugged*),but 5 consecutive days touring with family is more than enough.

Note to self: Keep all family tours strictly to 4D3N only.

Don’t get me wrong, I had an enjoyable time annoying my brothers, eating all the good stuff like there’s no tomorrow, sleeping till I feel like a pig, and dodging motorists in the midst of hubbub in Ho Chi Minh City… BUT DARN, IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK!

I miss my stuffy room, my new bed, my beaten up car, my loony friends, my comfort local food… everything that’s there about my normal KL life. It’s crazy really, as I don’t feel the same way when I’m down in Singapore or Australia. Hmmphh… I guess it has something to do my ever increasing age, the growing tendency to hold on to familiar stuff, ugh. Shucks, will I be one of those grandmas who will collect all rubbish and treat them as treasure? *gasp*

Well in any case I will be blogging about my Vietnam Trip shortly. Stay tune!

enough of facebook applications!

I know that Facebook is the rage now. Hell, I am addicted to it as well.

Now I admit that there are some cool (or normal) applications that people just have to add like ‘fighters club’, ‘superpoke’, ‘superlatives’, ‘grow a gift’, ‘hatch a gift’, etc. Nevermind that all these applications will lost their novelty eventually, they are still cool to begin with.

What I don’t get are those remarkably inane applications. To name a few:
- ‘Panty raid’ Great, now they are taking this unwholesome activity to a whole new e-level.
- ‘How hot are you?’ ‘Are you interested?’ Thanks, but I have self-proclaimed to be pretty darn hot so I have no need for reassurance from other people.
- ‘Free hugs’; ‘Free tattoos’; ‘Free whatever’ Enough of e-everything already. May I suggest you walk up to your friend/colleague sitting right next to you and give him/her a *real* hug? It means so much more.

The most annoying of them all is the Vampires/Pirates application because all the newbies somehow rather will received invitations to add those and they did and they will send invitations back to whoever that’s in their list again. Makes me feel like chewing off people’s head whenever I receive yet another vampires/pirates invitations.

Alright, enough ranting. I am just waiting for the rain to subside so I can finish moving THE LAST, THE LAST-ER AND THE VERY LAST-EST bit of my junks.

moving! moving! moving!

It is time to move. I mean, why would I stay by myself in a 3-room condo? Not like I can afford the whole rent myself. Or maybe I could afford the rent, I just don’t have to eat, drink, drive and shop all the time.

For me myself and my shadow alone, I have 2 huge boxes of shoes, several boxes of clothes, some boxes of junks, and a few furniture pieces. OH MY GOD, since when did I collect all these junks?

It made me realized that human, in general, collect junks. Why? Because they like to buy. Buy buy buy buy buy. Especially girls. Not that they need those items, they just want them. Somehow being the proprietor of an awesome piece of item is being translated to how successful, how tasteful, how cool they are.

Open your wardrobe and check how many items have you purchased yet have never used? Isn’t this a waste of natural and human resources? Does our mindless purchase indirectly contributed to the global warming issue?

I’m so goddam tired from having to lift heavy stuff and arrange all the stupid furniture I have to acquire as I’m moving from a furnished to an unfurnished place. Why didn’t anyone warn me that I’m going to have a “fun-filled” field day looking for furnitures for the empty room? *argh*

Now in the midst of sorting, packing, unpacking, resorting, repacking (luckily I have enough training packing for events), I did discover some interesting facts about gender:

one: Guys and girls pack stuff differently. Ask a guy to move, he will swipe everything in boxes, seal them and consider it done. Girls will sort and pack nicely – especially their expensive accessories, make ups, clothes and shoes.

two: Girls have definitely more stuff than guys! Just count the number of their shoes or clothes.

three: No straight guys will ever buy a red or orange curtain, yet they will say ‘yeah OK it looks just fine’ to girls! (yes, bro, YOU!)

OK OK, enough ranting. Back to more packing! *groan*

is successful relationship an urban legend?

Chick A and Chick B are analyzing a relationship – so what does it mean when he said things like that, so what did he tell you the other night, so what happens when he acts like that, so what should I do now, so what will you do if you are me… etc etc etc

Then suddenly Chick B told Chick A: “Eh, can you not ask me ah? I have failed relationships!”
Chick A consoled: “Nevermind, the blind leading the blind lo!”
Chick B advised: “You should ask those that has successful relationship!”
Chick A asked: “Who har? Who got successful relationship?”

…………… silence …………….

a topsy turvy xmas dinner

It was once again the most anticipated CE’s company dinner. This year, thanks to our creativity-in-abundance director Dicky, the Top Room @ Top Hat Restaurant is transformed into a cosy little family room with a cheery fireplace (with fake fire, of course).

Everyone was supposed to dress up in something Christmasy (green and red? ughh). But since I’m a pagan with eclectic tastes (both in accessories and men) I decided to wear a Top Hat! Wearing a top hat at Top Hat Restaurant! Isn’t it cool?

…Though I have a sinking feeling that my subtle innuendo was completely lost on my hyperactive colleagues…

We have the usual xmas carols, gift exchanging, toasts, stand up comedians who did an excellent imitation of Indian ‘boob’ fight. The most interesting bit of all is that some excellent joker gave Shanice a tiny weeny piece of furry lingerie! haha!

In any case, it will be hard for me to leave all these behind…

Zouk Out!

I promised myself I will go to ZoukOut before I turned 30. But I would have never have thought that my ZoukOut trip will be SO interesting…

Incident 1 @ Friday
First off, somebody*ahem* remembered that she did NOT bring her passport AFTER we got pass Malacca! (And she only realized when she was trying to tell her friend that he needed a visa to go to Singapore.) We have three options really:
1) To dump her on the side of the road;
2) To dump her at JB;
3) To call any friends that we knew that might be heading down to Singapore for ZoukOut and hope that they haven’t depart yet so they could get her passport.

Being naturally nice people, plus the fact that she was lucky enough to find such a friend, we waited two hours for the most important delivery of all times to arrive at the Ayer Keroh pit stop while talking nonsense and listening to ipod music and drinking tea.

Incident 2 @ Friday
At long last we hit Singapore at 3.00pm and were all set to paint the town red! We went bar hopping at Clark Quay @ MOS which we saw saw a white guy dancing too drunk to notice he’s dancing with a katoey; at Lunar which we saw some cat fight and gangster fight (woohoo!); and at Attica which we met some drunk dudes who had bad BO… yuck!).

Incident 3 @ Saturday
After 5 hours max of sleep (no thanks to the super hyper babes) we got freshen up and went to PS Cafe. By the way it has THE MOST FABULOUS big breakfast that I haven’t had for the longest time since Perth.. And although we have no problem finding a cab to PS Cafe, we waited for almost 1 hour to get the cab to PS Cafe and brought us home!

Incident 4 @ Saturday
I cannot stop thinking about my encounter with the most beautiful Aldo pumps I have ever met in my life… the bright pink and yellow one… I even dream about them…

Incident 5 @ Saturday
Somebody got drunk and lost…. I think I will skipped the entire story here.. Luckily she was OK. Actually half of the time I don’t know where my friends are!!!!!

Incident 6 @ Saturday
Somebody lost her shoes… (ok fine, it’s ME)

All in all, it was great fun @ ZoukOut and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Count me in for ZoukOut next year!

a dated dream

While packing up my seemingly unending stuff, I chanced upon a dusty little red organizer. In it, I scribbled some appointments and at the last pages of the book, I recorded a dream I had. Which on hindsight, I think I may have a tiny weeny bit of premonition power…

01.02.2005 (Dream 1)
In both real life and dream, I was in a patchy relationship with Guy A. In the dream only, I was having a date with Guy B. When I was walking on a busy street with Guy B, I met my best friend Teng and her boyfriend Brian and some other people. We were standing there chatting when Teng suddenly grabbed my hand and tugging me along to another direction… and I saw my then boyfriend Guy A there standing with his friends E & A!

Teng then grabbed me and ran towards an alley, made a turn and into a little surf shop. It has a wooden door that led out to the same street where everyone else were. Teng and I saw them walking towards my group of friends and my date. They chatted to each other and Guy A actually shook Guy B’s hands! (Just imagine the sickening feeling I had in my tummy)

I tried to run to somewhere, anywhere other than here, but when I opened the wooden door I saw E&A standing right in front of me!

…And like all juicy dreams, it ended and I dreamed about…

(Dream 2)
A guy suddenly opened the door and killed a mosquito (=mozzy). Then he looked around and suddenly, a silver mozzy turned into a boy and accused of him killing his mum! The super dead meshed up mozzy dead body was still on the guy’s hand. Turned out that this woman was the guy’s wife actually (?!), and she was on an experiment that could turn human into a silver mozzy when they are faced with danger… only those with the right genes, though.

WTF?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

I have absolutely no freaking idea what my mind is doing when I am asleep…

If I ever going to have a baby…

It will be because I like to have my very own living breathing replica.

And I will pick an intelligent man with great charisma so together we will create a better specimen of human being. *evil laugh*
