TWO (2) JUGS OF BEER FOR ONLY RM50.00NETT!!!
Now do I have your full attention yet? Haha. Yep, this is true. The above promotion is valid during Happy Hours at SomO, Mont Kiara.
How do I discovered it? Well, one fine day I was walking on the street to go get my car when suddenly the banner featuring the above promotion totally caught my attention! Luckily I wasn’t standing in the middle of the road cos I was too stunned to walk for a moment. Being a true devotee to Happy Hour, I promptly sitted myself there with a couple of friends the next day hahahaha 
I mean, honestly, where else can you find such cheap beers in a more than adequate venue right? Usually the price here is around RM30++ in those shitty, almost run-down, nearly collapsed, you-won’t-even-know-they-exist-pubs in a very non-chic area.
Tried their jap food (didn’t think to take pictures then… was too hungry), it’s really quite good! I’m a fan of jap food so when I say good… it’s good. But, err, I haven’t have the guts to try out their sashimi yet cos I wanted to drink, & I don’t want to puke after that.
What & Where is it?
SomO is an alfresco dining concept restaurant/pub/lounge. It’s actually situated just beside Coffee Bean @ Mont Kiara… beside my favourite food place Marmalade.
Their bar counter is actually quite cool. I’m always attracted to things that shine..
So How Do I Rate It?
Food? 4/5 (Their jap food is quite delectable! Worth a try)
Beverages? 2/5 (They constantly run out of a lot of drinks…)
Service? 3/5 (It really depends on the crowd. Big crowd? Don’t expect good service. Otherwise they’re quite attentive)
Price? 4/5 (The food & drinks are quite pricey.. except for the promotion)
Promotion? RM50nett for 2 jugs of beer!!

I know, I know. I said that I don’t want to be at The Curve anymore but sometimes, really, people has no choice since we’re all in this big tank of glue (jiang hu) haha.
Anyway, after lunch nutty & loony were looking for something sweet to munch on the other day. Ok, fine. Not so much of ‘looking for’ there since Nutty had been going on ; on about how she really need a donut during lunch.
So they went to the Big Apple Donuts & Coffee
and ordered a 1/2 dozen donuts, 2 cups of tea.
from top left – top right: dark chocolate, ice frost
from middle left – middle right: bananarama, mango
from bottom left – bottom right: almond, peanut butter
To our delight, the cuppa actually came with 1 glazed donut! Ok, ours were 1/2 glazed really.
So how does the donut compared to Dunkin Donuts?
Better than DD I swear! The first bite was already infectuous! It was soft, fluffy, light & not too sweet. And they have many other flavours too! The MUST TRY are:
- Mango
- Dark Chocolate
- Bananarama (chocolate + banana)
- Peanut Butter (nutty whacked 2 of those in a go!)
- 1/2 Glaze
(sorry, I don’t really remember their names)
Got a chance to talk to the friendly boss who’s lounging outside his shop. According to the good ol’chap, he flew to US all the way to learn how to make donuts & when he came back, he opened the first & ever Big Apple Donuts shop here at The Curve.
So How Do I Rate It?
Food? 4.5/5 (The donuts were EXCELLENT!)
Beverages? 3/5 (Normal lah.)
Service? 3/5 (Quite OK.)
Price? 3/5 (1/2 dozen of RM9.90)
Promotion? A cuppa FOC a donut!
Go try it! Then tell me if you still prefer dunkin donuts. Nutty is obviously very happy with the donut hahahahahah

So the gluttons awards go to… *drum rolls* — Loony & Nutty!!(why is there no surprise there..)
I mean, just look at all the food! Which eventually became empty anyway.. the dishes I mean..
The gluttons actually went to Paris @ ss2 & have a hearty farewell dinner for nutty.
We’re only four (4) gals, but we ordered six (6) dishes!
The waiter who took our order actually took a longggg look at us: “The friend that you’re waiting for, is it a girl or a guy?” (moomoo was a little late)
loony: “A girl lerrr”
The waiter: /raised the eyebrow super high
loony: “Dont worry lah Uncle, we can finish one haha”
When the food came, everyone, and loony did mean EVERYONE, who walked pass their tables were staring at the food, & then them, with a big ‘O’ on their face… *sweat*
d’”Zhao Pai” tofu is quite nice – soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, with lots of tasty meat bits (not that loony can taste those..)
d’long beans omelete is.. so-so only lah..
d’champagne chicken is a MUST TRY!!
Of which loony & nutty are happily devouring the watermelons..

then suddenly they served a wrong dish.. i cant remember what’s this type of steamed fish called..
d’bittergourd soup – yuk. Don’t order it. Soups are not their forte
d’teo chew’ steamed fish! it was super yummy! but I mean, do you really see how big is it?
well.. an hour later, all that was left was the spine & 1 pathetic piece of tofu only!!
Last but not least.. d’gam hiong lala – quite yummy but a little too much flavours going on for my taste
Nevermind how loony got her hands on 2 guppies, it only mattered that she did… To the eternal horror of the 2 poor little innocent guppies.
Within the first day, the 1st guppy dieded on loony already! Honestly speaking, it is really not loony’s fault cos the guppies have had a turbulent day what with all those rushing about & travelling. Perhaps the guppy is weak & die of exhaustion?
The guppies were supposed to be taken back to the proper owner, so it is also not loony’s fault that she doesn’t have any fish food ready on hand to feed those poor little kiddos.
And really, how could you expect a sweet, lovely girl like loony to use her bare hands to fish out the dead fish from the aquarium, right? It’s just… not doable, right?
Then today when loony came to work, she was soooo shocked to see that the lonely fish is a survival!!! But then… then… on what did the little fishy survived on? EEIKKSS! Its feeding on THE DEAD FISH!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god.. loony has officially turned a good-natured guppy into a nasty carnivorous guppy!! loony is really a certified pet killer..

umm.. the… surviving fish.. is still at loony’s desk..
While waiting for her crazy girlfriends to choose which face mask is better at Watson’s today, Loony got sooooo bored and therefore went to check out the shelves around, and managed to find something VERY INTERESTING
Firstly, Loony discovered that men come in three (3) sizes - 49mm, 52.5mm & 54mm!
Then, Ms. MooMoo found a… very… interesting… object: lighted. vibrating. condom. The million dollar question now is… how the hell did one use those? & it has a battery attached to it for goodness sake!
Lastly… is the most ingenious thing Loony has ever saw on a body shampoo for shinning skin. Yep, you read it correctly. shinning skin. What is more interesting is, they have 2 batches – one for shinning skin, one for shining skin. & luckily Loony took a picture to prove it!
FYI, the defination of shinning is… *drum rolls*
